Migraines, vertigo, TMJ

How connected it all really is.

The upper neck sits close to more of your nervous system than almost any other joint in the body. Headache, migraine, sinus pressure, TMJ pain and vertigo often trace back to the same small, chronically stressed area.

Where it shows up

Symptoms that tend to trace back here

  • Headaches and migraines
  • Vertigo and dizziness
  • TMJ and jaw pain
  • Sinus pressure
  • Upper neck stiffness

Reducing symptoms like these is best done by dealing with the source, whether that is the spine, the nerves, tissue compensation elsewhere in the body, or other system stresses such as nutritional deficiencies. Very often, chronic upper cervical malfunction is the common thread running underneath all of them, even when the symptoms themselves seem to have nothing to do with each other.

What a first visit is actually checking for

On your first visit, which runs 45 to 60 minutes, Dr. Weitz tests your reflexes and flexibility and runs an Insight Millennium scan, which measures what your nervous system is doing rather than asking you to describe a feeling. On the second visit, about 30 minutes, he goes through what that scan and exam found, in plain language, before any plan of care comes up.

Settling in, week by week

There is no set script, but most new patients go through roughly the same order: a full new patient exam, a review of your health history with our team, a conversation about what you actually want out of care, and then a plan built around your answers rather than a template.

Start where the upper neck actually is.

45 to 60 minutes for the first visit.
